Highmount explores the world for investment opportunities to diversify our clients’ portfolios.  We are not constrained by the notion that we are limited to domestic investments and traditional asset classes.  We recognize that many parts of the world offer extraordinary investment opportunities, both in traditional asset classes as well as in areas such as basic materials and natural resources, and we have taken advantage of the increased availability of vehicles that provide access to these areas.  This strategy has proven to be a strong diversifier and cushion against the unprecedented volatility of the financial markets. 

We implement our strategic investment program through both our own expertise and that of others.  Our in house approach combines large cap core equity portfolios, and taxable and tax exempt fixed income.   We offer access to hedge funds, private equity, real estate and other alternative investments through separate accounts and pooled partnerships. We also invest in ETFs and mutual funds.
